Backtrack was established in 1986 with the aim of presenting quality, well-researched articles on British railway history. Backtrack remains the only magazine focussing on all aspects of railway history from its earliest days right through to the early 1990s, with a strong emphasis on the use of historic colour photographs. It continues to provide advertising space for those with products to offer from the world of railway history.
